Bounce Walking Tour of Sydney
Jan 6th, 2008 by Nick
Before my health deteriorated, I spent Saturday morning doing a walking tour of Sydney. The tour is offered by Bounce Tours, who have been in business for about two years. I had made the reservation for Friday online from the LA airport, and when I arrived in Sydney I had a message from Rebecca that they had a group of 40+ students that day… and would I prefer a different time on Friday or on Saturday instead.
It turned out that on Saturday, I was the only customer. In fact I had two tour guides as Erin, a tour guide in training, joined us. Erin ran the tour for the most part, with Rebecca filling in when Erin was weak in a particular area. The tour started at Circular Quay, and worked it way west to The Rocks and then east to the National Botanic Gardens and the Opera House.
The weather was not cooperating, with very quickly passing strong rain clouds every few minutes. But the tour was very interesting, with a lot more detail than you would pick up walking on your own. I hope that they are able to increase their marketing (I found them from throwing keywords into Google) and get many more patrons.
