Barefoot Hospital
Jan 6th, 2008 by Nick
While I was in the “transit” area of the emergency room waiting for the blood tests to come back, I struck up a conversation with a very nice Filipino nurse. He has moved his family to Saudi Arabia, London, and now Sydney. We had a wide-ranging conversation about our two countries, and it really helped take my mind off of feeling like junk.
All of a sudden, two 20-something women walk through, they were visiting their mother who had some sort of kidney stone problem. The amazing thing, however, is that they were both wandering around the emergency room barefoot.
I looked over at Terry in surprise and let out a “huh???” His response: “Welcome to Australia…”
Hey Nick,
Hope all is well. Our parents sat together in church this morning and we are just thinking of you. Say hi to cousin Steven if you get a chance to see him. Also, don’t walk around barefoot. Have fun and parastika.
Love,
Zach, Maria, & Dean
