Yes, you read that correctly. I called United to find out how long my Chicago-LA flight was really going to be delayed, and they offered me a routing Chicago-Sacramento-LA, same plane both legs, leaving at 3pm instead of 6:30pm. With an exit row. Needless to say, I took it. I managed to get upgraded at the gate for the Chicago-Sacramento portion, and I don’t care about the hour-long Sacramento-LA flight.
So, I’ll have two hours at LA. I’d much rather give up 3 1/2 hours of my day today than risk losing my entire day tomorrow.
